New Hi-Visibility Leather Palm Gloves

http://www.gloves-online.com/mcr-hi-vis-orange-lined-pigskin-gloves
I’m pleased to introduce a new glove to our line of High-Visibility gloves. After all, daylight savings time will end this week so it comes at a very appropriate time and better yet it’s a “lined” fall/winter version.
Why all the fuss about this type of traditional type of leather palm glove?
First, it is a full-featured high quality grain pigskin leather with all of the features only found in more expensive models.
Points:

1. Quality select grain pigskin which dries soft and remains supple if they get wet unlike cowhide.

2.   Hi Visiblity Orange/Yellow bands on the back of hand.

3.   Retro-reflective strips built into the hi-vis bands.

4.   Insulated lining for warmth.

5.   Reinforced finger tips for added protection.

6.   2.5” Safety Cuff for easy on and off.

7.   Unisex sizing: Small – XL

Lastly and most important, this model is a whopping 30% less in savings than the other alternate model which we have been selling for years – and without sacrificing on quality or design. The pricing on this glove is awesome.

http://www.gloves-online.com/kinco-ski-and-cold-weather-gloves

One of most popular winter activity gloves are now back in stock for the winter.
We’ve sold these versatile winter gloves for over 7 years now since 2008.
Although the gloves were originally designed as a low cost Ski gloves, they are also used for many winter activities. They are very rugged and durable yet have the dexterity required in a Ski glove.
Features include:

  • Durable pigskin leather outwears regular cowhide and fabric gloves.

  • Extra HEATKEEP thermal lining for those exceptionally cold days.

  • Reinforcing leather patches sewn with Draylon thread covering the plam area and fingers for extra abrasion resistance.

  • Knit wrist keeps out cold and snow.

  • Pigskin breathes so the gloves will dry soft after getting wet.

  • Featured in Ski Magazine.

French Fry Gloves Make Your fingers Look like Fries

These McDonald’s French Fry Gloves are not available for purchase yet, but I imagine someone will cash in on this ideal eventually…  Probably, by next winter.
However, if you still need some children’s gloves, giving that spring time has been late to arrive, I suggest you check out our children’s winter gloves. Prices have also been reduced on what remains in stock.

Mittens vs. Gloves?

Although the first day of winter is over a month away, the country is already in the grips (pun intended) of Jack Frost.

This reminds me of the longstanding debate and question: gloves or mittens?
As a glove guru, I’ll mention the pros and cons.
Mittens pros:
Hands down, mittens are warmer.
Gloves expose more surface area of the hand to cold air, as pointed out by the Harvard College. Link. http://outreach.mcb.harvard.edu/animations/branching3.swf
Mittens cons:
Dexterity: such as zippers, or having to remove your gloves every time you need to send a text or read an email.
The other con is style but the New York Times noted, in winter sports attire, the mitten has been making a “significant inroad against its venerable rival, the glove.” Link.
The Glove Guru’s solution:

Convertible mittens: These fingerless gloves with an attached flap that turns the gloves into mittens. They are stylish. They come in many styles. They are gender friendly. Kids love them, too. The price is right as well, so they make for great gifts.
Maybe GO Convertible Mittens will finally put the debate to rest. Buy some today for delivery by Thanksgiving. Why wait until the first day of winter to arrive on December 21st. It’s here now.

Another Glove opportunity missed

Recently, I discussed a plan to set up a Glove Kiosk outside of the frigid MetLife Stadium at the Meadowlands Sport Complex in East Rutherford, NJ during the Super Bowl in February.
Today, I learned some bad news via the NESN (New England Sports Network Article link) that the NFL is providing gloves, hand warmers, and ear muffs to every seat holder not in a luxury box seat. After all, the Accuweather channel is predicting a 31% chance of snowfall with an expected high of 36 degrees on February 3 in the metro NY/NJ area.
The good news is that we’ll still be selling winter gloves to our customers in the North and my wife and I will make our semi-annual trek to our Glove Shop in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Not a bad plan after all and not a bad place to watch the Super Bowl every year.

Happy New Year to over a Million Glove Customers

1,714,759

In September I was happy to boast about reaching the astonishing milestone of One Million page views since January 1, 2012. That benchmark was shattered with our holiday glove sales and we ended up with a remarkable 1,714,759 customer page views by December 31st.
As a reminder to those less fluent with internet analytics, page views are the conservative metric when evaluating web site analytics. The example being that if we counted actual hits, the number would be 7 to 10 times higher due to images, etc. You can see this in the chart which I added for the doubtful.
In conclusion, I wish to thank everyone for your support and your business and I wish you the best in the New Year.
We’ve got some exciting new gloves to talk about this year so I’ll be back in touch shortly. In the meantime, you might like to take a look at some good Winter Gloves.

Gloves-Online announces new “Hot Glove” pre-order program for the new ICON Fashion Gloves

The new ICON Designer Art Leather Gloves arriving in October are now available for pre-order since we purchased all that the factory can produce this year. Quantities will be limited due to their popularity, limited production, and the fact that these glove models have become collector’s items. The design patterns change annually so we suggest you reserve your own personal pair today.
The ideal Christmas gift this year.
This pre-order program has been popular since 2007 for our Chinchilla Lined Gloves. Order today and we will guarantee immediate delivery once they arrive.

A look at Olga Gloves in the Palm Passage – St. Thomas USVI

Many of you have asked me about the location of the new Olga Gloves Boutique in St. Thomas – so I decided that the easiest way to explain it would be to provide the details and links in this post.
Rather than talk about the Palm Passage here, I’ve provided some useful links which you can follow. You can also find some useful general information about St. Thomas at the Palm Passage link.

Winter Cell Phone Gloves remain a top seller for the Holidays…

We were the first to introduce cell phone gloves back in 2008 and we ran out of gloves before Christmas. Each year since we doubled our stock and we continued to run out of stock.
Already this year we surpassed last year’s sales. We’ve added new lines like ISOTONER to maintain a good supply and we also expanded our touch-screen models due to the popularity of tablets.
Keep in mind that there are two types of cell-phone gloves. One version has removable fingertip and thumb tops (shown above) which can be used with Blackberry type keyboards and the other versions are exclusive to touch-screens and contain conductive fibers on the finger tips (shown below). The models with removable fingertip tops can be used with both types of keyboard and touch-screen devices.
My point!  Don’t wait to buy cell phone gloves as a gift or stocking stuffer. They will sell out again even though we have the largest selection and largest inventory.

Happy Thanksgiving, The Glove Guru
