It always surprises me that most workers looking for\ngood thin work gloves with coated palms for better gripping think they are\nalways made using natural (latex) rubber. Although many of these gloves are\nmade using a latex coating, the most popular and better models use a nitrile\ncoating. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, let me explain a little bit about nitrile. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nitrile rubber (NBR) is a synthetic rubber compound in general\nterms. It is commonly used in fuel and oil handling hoses, seals, and grommets\nsince ordinary natural latex rubber cannot be used. It is also more resistant than\nlatex rubber to oils and acids and has superior strength. It is also more\npuncture and abrasion resistant than natural latex rubber gloves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Healthcare workers know nitrile gloves well since they\nare also less likely to cause allergic reactions than latex gloves. They also\nlike them since nitrile gloves seldom rip apart when putting them on opposed to\nlatex gloves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a footnote, when thin knit work gloves are enhanced\nby a foam coating on the palms and fingers, it offers very good grip in contact\nwith chemicals including oils, petrochemicals, fuels and most acids. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
