New – GO Industrial Glove Web Site Upgrade

We are pleased to announce that we have just completed the final touches on the major revamp of our web site dedicated to Industrial Work Gloves. Link below.
Although this web site has existed since 2008, we’ve added new category navigation and site search capabilities and, obviously, a new modern look. We’ve also up-graded our shopping cart to meet customer expectations and comply with new internet security protocols.
GO Gloves has been on-line since 1996 but we developed the Industrial Glove web site which has navigation exclusive to industrial and work gloves. However, our internal search engine will also allow you to find other hard to find gloves not displayed on the industrial site.
By the way, if you are not on our mailing list already, we encourage you to sign up at the link at the bottom of the home page. You’ll get a 20% discount coupon just for joining us.

Touchscreen Cut Resistant Gloves

http://www.gloves-online.com/proddetail.php?prod=WK-RWG532

My friends at Radians continue to roll out some very useful glove innovations and they haven’t disappointed me yet. The latest model that I’ve tested is the new RWG-532 Touchscreen Cut Resistant Coated Grip Gloves.
The touchscreen sensitivity is superb and they test out at an EN388 – 4,3,4,3. Level 3 cut resistance. The price is modest, too.
The biggest advantage is that these gloves improve productivity and keeps the user protected by allowing use of touchscreen devices without having to remove their gloves.
Go to the link below and see them in action since we posted a You Tube video link in the product details.

Are gloves the new electronic wearable devices

It seems like electronic giants want to get into the glove business. This became obvious to me when I received a handful (pun intended) of emails yesterday touting the latest and greatest new glove wearable devices.
The first one arrived from Samsung followed by one from HTC and then capped off by one from Toshiba later in the day. Was this a coincidence or an April Fool’s joke? We’ll just have to see. You can review the articles on your own time and make your own assessment. Just make sure to read the fine print.
In the meantime, if you can’t wait to see if these gloves will ever hit the shelves, you can purchase some Touch Screen Gloves from us.

Boxing Gloves go for $836,500.

Although we are not involved with boxing gloves, I found it interesting that the boxing gloves worn by Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali) on February 25, 1964 to upset formidable world heavyweight champion Sonny Liston brought $836,500 at a New York auction held almost 50 years from the day of the fight.
What I also find interesting is that beats the price paid for Michael Jackson’s flashy glove in 2009 which sold for $420,000.
As much as you may find this glove trivia interesting, I guarantee you will find much better prices at Gloves-Online.com.

Future price volatility predicted in leather work glove costs

I am predicting that we will see significant and sudden price increases in most cowhide grain and split leather work gloves during 2014. This comes on the heels of the 5 – 10% annual increases over the last three years. Some of our leather work glove suppliers are anticipating another 10% hike in 2014 but I am predicting that the increases will be around 15% and on some models as much as 30%.
Global conditions have resulted in shortages of most cowhides and multiple influences are contributing to the price increases. Examples are:

  • China’s recent environmental policies resulting in closure of over 100 leather tanneries that do not use eco-friendly metal-free tanning processes.
  • Reduced number of cowhides due to higher feed prices and global droughts.

  • Cost of labor increases in China.
  • Increased leather demand from auto, clothing, and shoe industries.

Some manufacturers have sourced cheaper gloves in India and Pakistan but the quality of the leather and the craftsmanship is not currently comparable to that in China. Recently, due to customer complaints, we have had to replace some of those inferior leather glove lots that were sent to us without our knowledge and were unfortunately shipped our larger leather glove industrial users. Subsequently, these inferior gloves have been returned to the manufacturer.
As an option to the cowhide leather price increases, I encourage you to consider other alternatives with minimal price challenges such as pigskin, synthetic leathers, and grain goatskin or sheepskin. Otherwise, place your orders now if you want some immediate price protection.

Food Service & Restaurant Gloves

Over the last 25 years, people are always curious when we tell them we are in the glove business. Most never think that gloves play an important role in our daily lives beyond just providing warmth during the winter months like this year in particular or safety for construction and manufacturing workers. As a matter of fact, we even have two (2) different web sites due to our vast glove inventory – 1 for our Consumer gloves and 1 for our Industrial gloves
A perfect example of our diversity is our Food Service & Restaurant Glove selections. These include gloves such as Cotton Beaded Server Gloves, Cold (Freezer) Resistant Gloves, Cut Resistant Gloves, Glove Liners, Heat Resistant Gloves, Kitchen Utility Gloves, Single-Use Disposable Gloves, and even Stainless Steel Metal Mesh Gloves (shown).
You can view these gloves at the following links:
This is also a reason that we refer to ourselves as the world’s largest glove store so let us know how we can glove you. The only thing better than our vast glove selection are our prices.
